According to the US Labor Department, the consumer price index was "flat in February, though prices were 2.1% higher than a year ago."
BBC News states that core inflation (which doesn't include food and energy costs) rose 0.1% in February. This low inflation rate will cause interest rates to remain low, maybe for the rest of the year. Economists believe this low inflation rate will lead to a "slow recovery."
